On the afternoon of Sunday 5th October I had the pleasure of playing the Schumann Piano Quintet with the Auriga String Quartet in the Calne Festival of Music and the Arts. Future engagements to follow – watch this space!
On Wednesday 29th October at 7:30pm in St Peter’s Church, Stapenhill, Staffordshire, Kim Brown accompanied by pianist, Corinne Marsh, will present a concert of music in a lighter vein entitled “Light Reflections”. The programme includes popular songs from musicals, films and operettas such Franz Lehar’s “The Merry Widow” as well as arias by Handel, da Chiara, Bizet’s opera “Carmen” and songs by Gershwin.
These are intermingled with piano solos written by Billy Mayerl, Winifred Atwell and other classic favourites such as “The Robin’s Return”, Sinding’s “Rustle of Spring” and “The Sea” by Palmgren. The programme would not be complete with a couple of piano solos by Frederic Chopin.
Kim Brown’s innate commitment to style and her passion for the dramatic are qualities that will ensure this concert is one not to be missed.
